BPA Attends State Leadership Conference 2019

Eleven members of the Welch chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) attended the State Leadership Conference in Tulsa on March 11-13.  Members attending included:  Rachel Rife, Emoree Bradbury, Korbin Booth, Chloe Hitz, Jaci Clinton, Corinthian Bowin, Justin Haskell, Addey Small, Rose Small, Kaylee Johnson, and Aubrie Lester.  Ten students qualified to compete at State; those students and their contests are:  Rachel Rife - Intermediate Word Processing; Emoree Bradbury- Intermediate Word Processing; Korbin Booth - Advanced Spreadsheets & Administrative Support Team; Chloe Hitz - Advanced Spreadsheets & Administrative Support Team; Jaci Clinton - Advanced Spreadsheets; Corinthian Bowin - Advanced Spreadsheets; Justin Haskell - Advanced Spreadsheets & Integrated Office Applications; Addey Small - Fundamentals of Desktop Publishing & Administrative Support Team; Rose Small - Administrative Support Team; Aubrie Lester - Prepared Speech.  Students competed all day on Monday at the Hyatt Hotel & Tulsa Tech, Peoria Campus.  On Tuesday, they heard from state officer candidates and keynote speaker Hoan Do, who was a contestant on American Ninja Warrior and is now an award-winning motivational speaker and author of Succeeding in the Real World.  The awards ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Performing Arts Center.  The following students were recognized on-stage and received a medal for finishing in the top eight in their contest:  Rachel Rife, Korbin Booth, Corinthian Bowin, Justin Haskell, and Addey Small.  They were sponsored by Ms. Miller and Mandy Lester.
