About Us
Supporting Our Students, Empowering Our Community
In our rural community, the school counseling program serves as a vital bridge connecting students, families, teachers, and staff with the tools and resources they need to thrive. Grounded in a commitment to equity, achievement, and lifelong success, our counseling team works to meet the academic, career, and social/emotional needs of every student.
What We Do
Our school counselors are trusted partners in education who:
Collaborate with teachers to identify and support student needs
Develop and guide academic support strategies tailored to each learner
Provide families with resources, referrals, and ongoing guidance
Our work is built on compassion, connection, and commitment to helping every student reach their full potential.
Program Design & Accountability
Our counseling program is developed in alignment with the ASCA National Model (2019). This ensures a comprehensive, data-informed, and student-centered approach that supports growth in all areas: academic, career, and social/emotional development.
Key elements include:
Stakeholder input and alignment with school improvement goals
Continuous evaluation through student outcome data, program assessments, and performance reviews
Use of year-end data, bench marking, and special education documentation (IEPs, 504s, ELL testing) to guide student support strategies
Promoting Equity & Access
We believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed—regardless of background, ability, or circumstance. To help close achievement gaps and expand post-secondary options, we implement inclusive strategies informed by the ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors for Student Success (2014).
Our access points include:
Individualized supports such as IEPs and 504 Plans
Promotion of concurrent enrollment and advanced coursework opportunities
Counselor-led initiatives for FAFSA completion and scholarship applications
Graduation & Beyond
In response to The Graduation Act of 2024, we’ve adopted a multifaceted approach to boost promotion and graduation rates while preparing students for life after high school.
We support success through:
Alignment with Oklahoma’s College-Preparatory/Work Ready Curriculum
Implementation of Individual Career Academic Plans (ICAPs)
A range of alternative and supplemental resources:
Online learning platforms
Oklahoma 5 Star Interventions
Thunderbird Youth Academy
Oklahoma Job Corps
Our counseling program is not just about planning for the future—it’s about being present, proactive, and purposeful in every student’s journey. Together, we’re building a brighter tomorrow for our students and our community.
