Welch BPA Competes at 2023 State Leadership Conference
Five members of the Welch chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) attended the State Leadership Conference in Tulsa March 6-8. Members who qualified to compete are: Allie Bradbury, Trapper Johnson, Austin Haskell, Gage Miller and Alexander Zacarias. These students qualified in fourteen different contests. Students and their contests are: Allie - Advanced Desktop Publishing; Alexander - Management, Marketing & HR Concepts, Digital Communications & Design Concepts, Advanced Desktop Publishing; Trapper -Legal Office Procedures; Austin - Finance & Banking; Gage -Advanced Office Systems, Financial Math & Analysis, Administrative Support Concepts, Medical Terminology Concepts.
Students competed all day on Monday at Tulsa Tech, Peoria Campus. On Tuesday, they heard from state officer candidates and the keynote speaker. Chapter president Allie Bradbury participated in the Parade of Presidents. Allie and Alexander also represented the Welch chapter as voting delegates. The awards ceremony was held on Wednesday afternoon at the Cox Center.
Allie - 8th Advanced Desktop Publishing; Alexander - 1st Management, Marketing & HR Concepts, 4th Digital Communications & Design Concepts; Gage -1st Advanced Office Systems, 1st Financial Math & Analysis, 2nd Administrative Support Concepts, 2nd Medical Terminology Concepts.
National qualifiers are: Alexander Zacarias and Gage Miller. They will represent Welch and Oklahoma at the national conference in Anaheim, CA. BPA is sponsored by Gala Miller.
Welch BPA Competes at Nationals
Four members of the Welch High School chapter of Business Professionals of America attended the National Leadership Conference in Dallas May 4-8. Students competed in Fundamental Word Processing, Medical terminology Concepts, and Financial Math & Analysis. They also attended the general session, and awards ceremony, and participated in several tours including the George W. Bush Presidential Center, the JFK Sixth Floor Museum, and the ATT Stadium.
Students attending were Alexander Zacarias and Gage Miller. Students competed, attended sessions and BPA night, and toured Hollywood, Warner Bros Studios, and Griffith Observatory.
