Proposed Bond Issue

Welch Public Schools

Proposed $3.9 Million Bond Issue Election

March 5, 2019

Focus on Safety, Efficiency, Accessibility, Upkeep

Supermajority required to pass (60%)

Bond issue will be an extension of the current millages already in place.  REPRESENTS NO NEW PROPERTY TAX INCREASE.  Bond funds may ONLY be spent on bond projects.

Projects will utilize already existing structures, using what we have.  The Old Gym is 70 years old, the Elementary School is 60 years old, and the High School is 50 years old.

With district valuation growth averaging 2.5% per year, and construction costs going up between 5-10% per year., the longer we wait to do these projects, the farther behind we get.

There will come a time when the condition of our facilities will determine the future of our school district.
