Today, was the reward party for the last 9 weeks of the year for some truly outstanding students! These Wildcats earned their spot by maintaining no office referrals and no failing grades for the entire last 9 weeks — what an incredible accomplishment! 👏

Welch Public Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Paula Knight as our new School Counselor. Mrs. Knight received her undergraduate degree from Missouri Southern, teaching credentials from Northeastern State University and her Masters in School Counseling from John Brown University. Mrs. Knight is married to Danny and together they have 3 stepchildren, 1 granddaughter and 7 grandsons. “I’m so excited to continue my counseling career in Welch and look forward working the with student and meeting the community.”

Welch Public Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Steven Daugherty as the new Head Boys Basketball Coach. In addition to his leadership on the basketball court, Coach Daugherty will also serve as an assistant coach for the baseball program.
Coach Daugherty brings a passion for education and student development that aligns with the values of the Wildcat community. He and his wife, Nikki, are excited to become part of the district, along with their two children.
“I’m excited to join the Wildcat family,” said Coach Daugherty. “Teaching isn’t just a job for me. I enjoy working with students, helping them develop life skills, mentoring them in academics and athletics, and guiding them to become responsible young student-athletes.”
School leadership expressed enthusiasm about the addition of Coach Daugherty, noting his commitment to building strong relationships with students and fostering success both on and off the court.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Daugherty to our staff,” said Jeremy Ramsey, Superintendent. “His dedication to student growth and his enthusiasm for coaching and teaching make him a great fit for our programs and community.”

Reminder: Sports physicals for the 2026-27 school year will be held tomorrow in the gym. The cost is $10. Paperwork will be sent home today and will need to be completed before the examination. This is for athletes going into grades 6-12 next year.

Sports physicals for the 2026-27 school year will be held on Tuesday, May 12th, in the gym. The cost is $10. Paperwork will be sent home on Monday, May 11th, and needs to be completed before the examination. This is for athletes going into grades 6-12 next year.
