Hello Wildcats!
We are excited to announce that we have the opportunity to work with Cherokee Nation on the Summer Nutrition EBT program. Households that receive direct certification for Free/Reduced meals will have the opportunity to participate with USDA Summer Nutrition Program operated by Cherokee Nation Public Health. As a school district we will be helping with student data verification and share this with the Cherokee Nation agency. If you refuse, it will not affect any government assistance that you or your child may be currently receiving. If you have questions regarding the project, please contact Cherokee Nation at 918-453-5257 or 918-453-5572.
If you wish to OPT OUT then fill out this form and return it to your child's Principal's office or stop by their office and fill out the OPT OUT form.

Hello Wildcats,
Yesterday afternoon an email containing an adobe PDF was sent to everyone in the district including students, parents, employees and other school district contacts from a Welch employee. Since then another employees email account was compromised and was used to log into our database containing employee's financial information. We took quick and all necessary steps to reverse what actions the cyber criminals did along with working with our outside IT company and Sylogist.
No student or parent information was compromised nor obtained, it appears they were after financial information.
We were alerted asap, accesses were changed, passwords were changed, information deleted that was fraudulent, bank institutions were notified and we had all employees and have told students as well to change passwords asap and implement a 2-step Verification procedure if not already.
At this time, our outside IT company has and is continuing to run all necessary scans, logs and password resets.
We hear about cyber security situations daily and think it will never happen to me...let this be a lesson we all learn...
Change email and personal passwords frequently and use at minimal a 16 character password including numbers, letters, capital letters and other characters. If your email allows, setup a 2-step verification procedure. Monitor your bank accounts and any financial accounts for fraudulent activity.
We will update you if any more information comes to light...As always, thank you for your continued support of Welch Public Schools.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Ramsey, Superintendent

Hello Wildcats, the weather forecast for this coming Monday evening the 8th into Tuesday the 9th is predicting heavier snow and colder temperatures. If this forecast holds true, Tuesday could be a potential "Virtual Day" for Welch students. Elementary, MS and HS staff are preparing lessons if we decide to be virtual on Tuesday.
I wanted to give parents/guardians as much notice for the potential virtual day to make plans. Final decision will be made Monday the 8th
Thank you Wildcat Family...
